I t all started in April 2005, when Apex founders Lonnie Purvis and Marya Woods set out to provide high quality automation systems integration services to manufacturers and processors in the Boise, Idaho area. Talk about starting on a "shoestring"! Apex's first "offices" were their homes and coffee shops. They didn't even plan to hire their first employee for at least three years. But, Apex's work was in such demand, that hiring plan lasted only three months!
APEX was able to step in and help us provide a solution that exceeded the client's expectations while maintaining budget and schedule.

Sam has been leading Manufacturing Execution Systems initiatives at Apex since 2008. His primary role as CSO is to ensure that our customer messaging is consistent, project activities are effective, and the decisions we make on a day-to-day basis support the long term goals the employees and owners. Prior to Apex, Sam worked 12 years for one of the world's largest food manufacturers, filling various Operations, Information Technology, Automation and Management roles. Sam enjoys fishing with his wife and watching his children grow up.
