Description
For over 20 years, APIAHF has worked to address health challenges and disparities in LGBT communities, including HIV/AIDS, cancer, hepatitis, and tobacco cessation. APIAHF currently provides HIV prevention-related capacity building assistance to community-based organizations (CBOs) and health departments across the nation with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) influences policy, mobilizes communities, and strengthens programs and organizations to improve the health of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) populations. Founded in 1986, APIAHF advocates on issues critical to the health and well-being of our diverse and vibrant communities. We approach our work with the philosophy of coalition-building and developing capacity for AAs and NHPIs and other, diverse racial/ethnic communities.
APIAHF’s Capacity for Health (C4H) Program team works to strengthen the capacity of community based organizations (CBOs) and health departments to conduct HIV/AIDS prevention throughout the U.S. and U.S. affiliated jurisdictions. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has consistently funded APIAHF for more than 20 years to provide capacity building assistance (CBA).
The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) influences policy, mobilizes communities, and strengthens programs and organizations to improve the health of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) populations. Our values are respect, fairness, equity, and health justice for all. Founded in 1986, we advocate on issues critical to the health and well-being of our diverse and vibrant communities.
