For the last 10 years, Apple Tree Partners (ATP) has worked with entrepreneurs to found and build successful drug development, drug discovery and medical device companies. ATP invests its time, expertise and capital to create proprietary products and technologies that have the potential to serve markets with unmet medical needs. ATP founds the companies in which it invests; the capital it provides to its companies is typically sufficient to participate as a major investor in all follow on rounds. As a founding investor, ATP often serves in executive roles (its partners regularly become acting CEOs, COOs, CSOs and Board or Executive Chairmen). With this active investment approach, ATP works with its portfolio company entrepreneurs to recruit management teams and establish the necessary corporate infrastructure. Founded in 1999 by Seth Harrison, M.D., ATP is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City, and the firm currently manages two venture capital funds with committed capital totaling $135 million.
