Barry Klemons, owner of Archadeck of Charlotte, shocked family and friends in 1988 when he left his job as a Technical Director for ABC-Television in New York City, and moved his young family to Charlotte - to start a new life and a new career in construction.Barry faced many challenges in starting Archadeck of Charlotte. One major challenge was trying to build a brand new business in a brand new city while he was trying to build a brand new life. Barry worked laboriously to legitimize his business and to prove himself to the Charlotte community. Barry’s success can be attributed to his high degree of business, construction and personal integrity, to his putting his customers first, and to surrounding himself with creative, skillful and knowledgeable staff that have the same commitment to customer satisfaction and quality as he does.Barry attributes much of his success as a remodeler to the skills he learned as a Technical Director at ABC Television in New York City. "Especially when we were broadcasting live, I would be bombarded with information from all sides and have to make rapid decisions," he recalls. The ability to quickly assimilate information and come to a solid decision has been instrumental in helping him start up a successful Archadeck franchise in Charlotte.
