Archibald & Hamel, Inc. was founded in 1968 as a Manufacturers' Representative Agency. The founding partners were Joseph J. Archibald Jr. and William D. Hamel. In 1985, Mr. Hamel retired from the company and sold his interest in AHI to Joseph J. Archibald, Jr. Under Joe Archibald's guidance, the company continued to grow and to become widely recognized for its professional capabilities, dependability and unexcelled integrity. In 1998, Joe Archibald, Jr. sold his shares to his son, Joseph J. Archibald III who worked with AHI for 22 years. In 2003, Richard Meek joined Archibald & Hamel as Joe III's partner. In accord with this transaction, the company changed its name to "Archibald & Meek," with no other changes in operating procedures between any of its industry associates. Archibald & Meek continues to grow every day, yet business practices remain the same. A&M strives for excellence by serving its customers and manufacturers like no other rep agency.

We are a manufacturers' sales agent in the lighting industry, serving Chicagoland, Central Illinois and Northwest Indiana. We represent nearly 50 different lighting and control manufacturers, most of which are independent companies and leaders in our industry. These manufacturers serve the commercial, industrial and residential markets; offering both interior and exterior lighting as well as lighting controls. In addition to aiding in lighting design and specifications, our Account Managers provide on-site services and support by further assisting with layouts and photometrics. We maintain our 46-year reputation for excellence in customer service by working to fulfill every client's needs.
