Archive Builders provides an in depth understanding of document imaging as used in records management. Presentations are given on the computer industry as it relates to document imaging systems and records management for specific sites. Archive Builders reviews existing document imaging systems operation for the controls and procedures needed to meet the standard of reasonable care of records. Systems are also reviewed to see if the systems could benefit from a technology refresh. The typical Archive Builders client is seeking to make their records management program more computer intensive. Our clients are also planning to take advantage of advances in document imaging and reductions in the cost of computer imaging hardware. Clients served have been in the areas of engineering, municipal government, commercial records management, education, biotechnology, natural resources, and manufacturing. Records management requires a long view of the system life cycle. During the life of a document, the records management system controlling the document may change more than once. The volume of records stored requires that changes be carefully planned long in advance of implementation.
