AREA CREDIT UNION was formed in 1961 as G-B Employee Credit Union. In 1973 the name was changed to C-T KC Credit Union, serving CertainTeed Corp, Aerquip, Gustin Bacon Division, and their families. In 1983 a request to also include the Fairfax area was approved by the state. To better represent our membership, in 1986 a request to change our name to Area Credit Union was approved. We now serve CertainTeed Corp. nationwide, Russell Stover Candies nationwide, anyone who works in, lives in, or is paid from the Fairfax area, and member's families. We have a variety of loans for autos, RV, Boats, 2nd mortgage, etc. Check our rates page for more information.In most cases we will give an answer to a loan request within 2-3 hours. We have share accounts that earn a high dividend yield that is determined each quarter by the Board of Directors. You can have a 2nd account called a special account to use for vacation, taxes, insurance, etc. You can open a Christmas club account anytime during the year and checks are mailed between October 3rd and 10th.
