I have been counseling since 1995, starting with my own private practice. Throughout the years, I enjoyed working with several different agencies within the community. Serving as a crisis counselor for Spanish Peaks and St. Mary Corwin, and helping clients with substance abuse issues has been challenging and gratifying for me. I have experience working with troubled youth and their families to ensure teens stay in school and graduate! I have been studying and working with clients on the effects of nutrition and mental health and have been finding great success I this area.
I have extensive experience working in the field of mental health. I have worked with adults, children, adolescents and families. I have extensive experience working with substance abuse problems working with clients who have abuse of drug and alcohol problems. My work experience includes forensic psychiatry, Department of Veteran Administration, private hospitals, Department of Social Services, Department of Corrections, Department of Youth Services, Statewide mental health and domestic violence advocacy outpatient community mental health and private practice.
Venice Gallegos worked at Parkview Medical Center for fifteen years prior to coming to Associates for Psychotherapy. In that time Venice has worked with children and adolescents as well as with adult populations. She brings her special energy to working with couples and individuals, also enjoying opportunities to treat adolescents as well as children, often implementing sand tray in her work.
Dr. Quinn's theoretical orientation is called eclectic. That is, Dr. Quinn takes from various orientations such as cognitive-behavioral and Jungian analytic to formulate an individualized approach to treatment depending on the client. Moreover, Dr. Quinn is experienced in such approached as hypnotherapy and neuro-biofeedback. He enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults to bring about positive life changes. Dr. Quinn performs psychological, intellectual, substance abuse, ADHD, dementia, and alzheimer's evaluations, and is assisted in this area at times by his Associate, Emmet F.
