Astro Met Inc. is a full service manufacturer of advanced ceramics components to customer specification. Our products include high purity alumina, zirconia and machinable ceramics. Astro Met's focus is on providing cost effective solutions to wear and corrosion problems in a wide range of applications and industries.

Because Macor is so readily machined, it is a cost effective material for small volume manufacturing and for developing ceramic prototypes which in production are made by pressing and sintering large quantities. It has been used for nozzles, sensor housings, bearings, fixtures, guides, electrical insulators, thermal isolators and numerous other applications where the unique technical properties of Macor provide a solution to a challenging materials problem.

Astro Met, Inc. has extensive advanced ceramics machining experience and capabilities that enable us to respond to the most challenging customer requirements for precision toleranced advanced ceramic components. Our primary focus is the precision machining of advanced ceramic components, per customer design, from the advanced ceramic materials that we internally manufacture. These include our AmAlOx 68 alumina, AmAlOx 87 alumina, AmZirOx 86 zirconia, ZTA-96 zirconia toughened alumina and our distributor product, Macor Machinable Glass Ceramic.

We specialize in precision toleranced advanced ceramic components in both prototype and production quantities. Since 1961 Astro Met's advanced ceramics have enabled thousands of customers to solve problems and develop products and processes that would not have been possible with conventional engineering materials.
