Bob MacKnight joined Astute as CEO in 2013. He brings over 35 years of high-technology senior management experience to Astute. Before joining Astute, Bob was CEO at Crossing Automation, a leading designer and manufacturer of semiconductor fab and tool automation equipment that was sold to Brooks Automation in the fall of 2012. Prior to this, Bob spent eight years at semiconductor manufacturing equipment firm Mattson Technology, where he was ultimately promoted to President and COO.
Ted Lesinsky joined Astute in 2013 as the Vice President of Sales. Ted is a proven sales executive with over 20 years of leadership experience at both public and privately held technology companies. He is responsible for developing Astute Networks' sales strategy, processes, and national sales teams.
Regardless of what type of NAND is used in a SSD, make sure that you understand the Petabytes Written (PBW) guaranteed by the SSD manufacturer. This number allows you to determine how durable the SSD is, regardless of its internal design. And beware of vague endurance improvement claims by various flash system manufacturers – use the guaranteed PBW numbers.
