Description
Atrium Log Homes, LLC, is proud to offer Honka log homes in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, or Anywhere Else Your Dream May Take You.
Unlike other log home companies, Honka manufactures their own windows. With HONKA windows you are not only getting a thicker, stronger, and more energy efficient window than standard offerings, but you also have a matching product of great beauty made from the same superior polar pine as their logs. Honka’s DK double-paned, low-e glass windows are engineered in Germany, and feature “Tilt and Turn” operation, where each window can open in two different directions. They are made of the same polar pine as the logs to provide a coordinated look, and for structural integrity.
Our new showroom, located just under the Honka Log Homes lighted sign in our log retail center, is now open, displaying all the Honka log styles, Honka "turn & tilt" windows, Honka door styles, and all the trims Honka manufactures to create their unique look.
Honka grows, harvests, and manufactures their logs, windows and doors from polar pine which grows near the Arctic Circle for only seven months out of the year. The extreme growth conditions in Finland force the pines to grow slowly with reduced moisture content, and result in a wood that is denser and straighter with fewer knots than pine grown at more southern latitudes. This makes polar pine an ideal wood for log homes. The narrow growth rings ensure a wood that is resistant to warping, twisting and checking (splitting), with excellent dimensional stability.
