In 1914 on Chicago's south side, a small shop of Swedish Immigrants began manufacturing wood screens for windows, doors, and porches. Using its storefront on Racine Avenue to sell its products to surrounding neighborhood homes and businesses, Auburn Screen Company grew with Chicagoland. The introduction of aluminum replacement windows in the 1960's allowed Auburn Screen to shift its primary focus from manufacturing to installation, touting its window expertise to commercial customers around the city.
