In addition to the inservice topics listed above, ABTA can develop a series of trainings designed to meet the specific needs of your staff. Following a needs assessment, we work with the school district to develop a series of trainings that will meet the training needs of the identified staff in the areas that are identified as "Evidence Based Practice". A Pre and Post test are implemented to insure that participants have gained the requisite level of content knowledge.

Gail Cafferatta, B.A. received a B.A. in psychology, with an emphasis in animal behavior, from University of California, Davis and teaching credentials from California State University, Chico. She has been teaching in public education for almost thirty years. She has experience with students from pre-school age to college age. In addition to teaching ten years as a regular education teacher, Gail has worked with students with a wide variety of special needs, including autism, severely handicapped, emotional disturbance, and behavioral challenges.

ABTA is proud to offer services to assist Local Education Agencies in meeting the educational needs of their students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Inservice Training, Program Assistance/Review and Comprehensive Institutes for Educators are among the services we provide to help build capacity within public education settings and programs.

Through our years of experience in the public schools, we have worked with many qualified and motivated individuals who, when given the right tools, support and training, have made remarkable progress teaching their students with autism and other neuro-developmental disabilities which impact behavior. Many feel that these most challenging students can only receive appropriate and high quality intervention when a private or non-public agency provide the direct service.

Each Associate has first hand work experience in public education. Each of us has hands-on classroom experience as well as expertise in mentoring and consultation. Our knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), best practices, teaching strategies and the public education system make us uniquely qualified to train other educators.
