Automated Building Services was founded in 1968 by Larry Chess. In 1972 his brother, Merv Chess, brought the business to Florida. In 1977 Merv sold the Florida operation and as co-CEO's they built Automated into what it is today. Currently Automated has over 150 buildings in the Houston area. The intent of Automated Building Services is to provide our total management experience and resources for your business. Automated has been a member of the BSCAI for over 40 years as well as members of ISSA and USGBC.
To provide quality housekeeping services at a competitive rate in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. This allows our customers to provide a clean and healthy atmosphere for their employees and tenants to work in.
Debbie has over twenty years of experience in both sales and operations. Before coming to ABS Debbie was a Branch Manager for four years servicing East Texas Medical Center and Argon Medical in northeast Texas. Debbie has represnted Automated Building Services since 2002. Her success is driven by her ability to partner with the customer and bridge lines of communication with our Operations Department personnel. She continues to bring new ideas and methods to enhance our capabilities in delivering “Always Better Service.” Debbie has her LEED Green Associate Certification with the U.S.
Wendell has thirty years experience servicing accounts and managing production personnel and field supervisors. Wendell has been with ABS for 22 years. His main duties include but are not limited to: establishing and maintaining policies and methods set forth in our company policy manual, overseeing all Operation Department personnel, inventory control, building budget control and contract compliance, implementing training for the newest methods, etc.
Merv is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a BBA degree. Merv has been with Automated Building Services since 1972 and has almost 40 years of extensive experience in operations, customer relations, purchasing, inventory, budgeting, quality control, sales and marketing. Merv served as President of SWABSCO and has been a member of BSCAI and BOMA.
