Description

Automatic Door & Fireplaces is an installing distributor of residential and commercial garage doors and garage door openers; wood, gas and electric fireplaces; and related accessories. We service the Minneapolis and St. Paul Metropolitan Area, portions of Greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin from our main office in Champlin, Minnesota. Our retail showrooms are in Champlin and Woodbury (see Showroom page for phone numbers and locations). Automatic Garage Door was founded in 1971, selling garage door products primarily to the commercial and construction markets, and has grown to become the largest installing garage door distributor in the Twin Cities. We expanded our product line to include fireplaces in the early 1980s in order to meet an emerging demand and provide better service to our existing customer base. In 1992, Automatic Door & Fireplaces was purchased by Clopay Service Company, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cincinnati, Ohio based Clopay Corporation, known worldwide as a manufacturer of garage doors under the Clopay and Ideal brand names. During a corporate restructuring in 2008, Automatic Door & Fireplaces was repositioned within Clopay Building Product Division in order to take advantage of the synergies that exist between the companies.
