In 2001, a team of forward-thinking professionals at Navigy, Inc., a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc., and Humana Inc. sought to empower physicians and other health care professionals in the state of Florida with a smarter business solution to conduct their daily health plan transactions. They created Availity to connect these professionals with multiple health plans through an online forum that transmits the information and documentation associated with health care transactions. Today, the Availity Health Information Network harnesses the utility of the Internet to assist health care professionals in a tangible and timesaving manner across the nation. Availity combines dynamic innovation with an in-depth understanding of the health care industry. We build collaborative relationships that ultimately benefit all health care stakeholders, including health care professionals, health plans, and patients.
