Over the last years IFPEN acquired from Avantium several Flowrence units for different applications. IFPEN and Avantium have reached the next stage in the business partnership as another unit for hydrocracking and hydrotreating applications has been acquired. The collaboration follows the success of the joint research effort which began in 2006, focusing on the discovery and development of new catalyst families. The collaboration is a combination of contract research services at the laboratories of Avantium in Amsterdam in addition to the provision of multiple Flowrence® parallel fixed bed reactor systems at CRI’s research laboratory in Houston.

PEF is a novel 100% biobased polyester with enhanced barrier, thermal and mechanical properties over existing packaging materials.
