Awards To Remember was founded in January 1983 when owner Robert Smith was a junior in high school. Smith had worked in sales for Oxford Trophy Company during 1982 and purchased the company's equipment and merchandise in the fall of that year. The company was originally called Robert D. Smith and Co. and began operation in his parents' garage, and then later operated from their basement.
