Located in a Northern suburb of Chicago, B.C. Dog Training Club, LLC has been serving dog owners and the community since 1979 when we were originally known as Better Canines through Instruction, Inc. Cathie Sabin, owner of B.C. Dog Training is a Professional Member of the IACP. Our enrollment has been a proven tribute to our methods with over 5000 dogs being trained each year with clients coming from as far away as Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. B.C. Dog Training's classes are designed to teach you how to train your dog, and while you will be the dog's teacher, both of you will be our students. The approach to training your dog, which you will be taught, has evolved over many years of study and experience. It consists of demonstration and reward and has become known as 'Shaping'. The theory is, you cannot correct a dog for something it does not know, it must be shown the correct way to do your bidding. To achieve the best results from our shape training philosophy, classes are held once a week. You will receive written handouts recapping the new exercises covered in each class and by practicing an average of 15-30 minutes per day both you and your dog will progress at a comfortable and fulfilling pace. Depending on your particular breed and the characteristics of the individual dog, will determine the proper length of time and number of repetitions necessary.
