Description
BRAINS is dedicated to helping individuals and families understand the complexities of their functioning and endeavors to maximize the potential for success. Development can be altered by many factors, such as complications during pregnancy/delivery, injury, illness, exposure to toxins, emotional distress, or family related issues. We hope through the utilization of the resources offered at this clinic that development might be enhanced and there will be ongoing functional gains/stability.
At BRAINS, we strive to provide the personalized care of a private practice while offering a variety of services typically found at much larger facilities. We are continually evaluating the most current research and client feedback to provide the highest level of care possible.
The consortium consists of a cooperative arrangement among three training facilities: BRAINS, The BRAINS Foundation, and Ottawa County Community Mental Health. For the 2014-2015 training year, the consortium anticipates providing three (3) fully-funded interns. The primary mission of the BRAINS Training Consortium is to provide a year of intensive exposure to a variety of clinical experiences from the brain-based perspective.
BRAINS provides a unique clinic providing sensory-based and motor-based assessment and intervention. As part of the multidisciplinary team at BRAINS, we strive to gain a holistic (or whole child) view of each child. This means understanding how the child functions in a variety of environments such as home, school, with family, with peers, etc. All assessments and interventions are specifically tailored to the maximum benefit of each individual child.
