I, John Blakley, am the sole owner of B & B Dock Repair & Removal. I started in the dock business in 1976 with my future father-in-law, Fred Waller, over on "Hawaiian Island," the first island down from Bagnall Dam at the 3-mile marker. The dock company was Hawaiian Island Dock Company. I worked for Fred until he passed on and the business closed. Later, after working as a union heavy-equipment crane operator on the ocean for years, I moved back here in the early '90s and decided to re-enter the dock business. After being back in the dock business for many years, I now have two shops that are 50 x 72 and 45 x 82 sitting on 13 acres off of Highway 0 outside Laurie, Missouri; a fleet of boats (or so my wife says); seven work trucks; one bidding truck; and a large crew. For the first few years, I decided not to build any docks but instead to concentrate only on the repair of docks. But as time went by and larger boats began to use the lake, it became apparent that the docks being built were not what I would consider heavy-duty rough-water docks. So, after many customers asking and having to continuously fix so many docks torn up due to the rough water on our lake, I finally threw in my hat and designed an actual "Rough Water Dock" that will hold up on this Lake. The motto for my company has become " Building the Best ... Repairing the Rest." Sincerely
