B Funk Dance Company

Description

The B.Funk Dance Company was created to share the art of dance with the Baltimore Community, to cultivate dancers' talents and promote physical wellness.Becky Funk, artistic director and owner of the B.Funk Dance Company, has studied dance for over 19 years and has trained in Master classes from coast-to-coast under the direction of world-renowned dancers, such as Joe Tremaine, Gus Giordano and Brian Friedman. Becky continues to participate in regional and national workshops and frequently attends classes in New York at Broadway Dance Center. She has competed in and won several regional and national dance competitions including a call-back audition for the television talent show Star Search. In 1995, while serving as Captain and choreographer of the Towson State University Dance Team, she led the team to the National Collegiate Dance Competition in Daytona, FL. In 1992, Becky represented Pennsylvania's Adams County as Young Woman of the Year and went on to win the Talent and Fitness categories at the state level. She has served as a judge for the Young Woman of the Year and National Talent of Dance talent shows. She has modeled for both Curtain Call and Fancy Dancing magazines. Becky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from Towson State University.
