Here's an update and a look ahead at future environmental events this year. Bancroft School has finally started recycling in the cafeteria with new Blue bins availabe for plastic water bottles and paper products- Good job everyone! -The Coordinators have ordered hundreds of stainless steel water bottles with a new green and with "Bancroft" logo. We are waiting for them to arrive, and will be available for Christmas presents (at a cost of 8 dollars per bottle). These reusable bottles are dishwater safe and can rapidly reduce the amount of plastic water bottle waste seen in school every day. Plus, they are fun to use and show school spirit! -The Student Council will be having an idle-free reminder day in the near future. They will create signs and carry them around the circle during parent pick up to remind parents to turn off heir engines while waiting to collect their children after school. -The Recycling Committee will be presenting a skit on Recycling, Reusing and Reducing this Spring. The presentation will be performed by students at the all school assembly. -Earth Day and Green week will actually be celebrated a week late due to the Spring vacation. Highlights of the week include: -Recycling contest between classrooms -Planting around Bancroft school -Student Council Power Point Presentation on recycling -Green Day- everyone walks to school in green (stainless steel water bottle will be available for purchase) to support the health of our planet earth and to show we care.
