Banker Wire Branches into Sculpture at Community College “Tree of Success” Sculpture Aims to Inspire at New Student Success Building MUKWONAGO, WI …Creativity. Vision. Inspiration. Those words – and many others – hang from Banker Wire mesh on the “Tree of Success” sculpture at Fox Valley Technical College. They not only reflect the characteristics that FVTC students associate with personal success, but also describe the design process of the unique sculpture. The Tree of Success resulted from a collaborative effort between students at FVTC, architects, contractors and Banker Wire.

Established by Charles Banker in 1896 as C.I. Banker Wire & Iron Works, the company flourished in Milwaukee as one of many early metal fabricators making use of the new engineering marvel - inexpensive steel. Banker Wire specialized in fabricating wrought iron and wire products such as fire escapes, tool room partitions and bank teller cages. Changing times and changing owners gradually took its toll, and by the mid 1960's, the company had withered to a local buyer and seller of industrial wire cloth. New ownership in 1965 gradually began revitalizing Banker.

The driving force behind Banker's success has been to apply sound engineering principles to the manufacture and design of our product. Our industry is a very specialized one in which ready access to equipment, knowledge, and manufacturing techniques is very limited. Our strategy has been to improve and innovate, and to analyze our successes and failures in light of disciplines such as statics, dynamics, metallurgy and mathematics. Our engineering staff is second to none with 60+ years of combined engineering experience specific to the wire cloth industry.

Banker Wire manufactures the highest quality Pre-Crimped Woven Wire mesh. Pre-crimped wire mesh differs from Plain weave material in that the individual wires are run through a crimping process prior to mesh assembly. Our high speed crimpers use precision cut crimping wheels that shape each wire to accommodate intersections on an infinite number of mesh specifications. Without a defined crimp, Plain woven material lacks consistency and shape which makes it difficult to work with. It can also lead to lost time and money for the customer.
