Steve Barber was influenced to be a builder by his father, Irvin Barber, who had been in business for thirty-eight years. Even in his adolescent years, he spent his summers as a carpenter framing houses for his father. After high school, he spent the next two years working for a carpenter contractor.On October 1976, Steve Barber Construction Inc. was founded. Starting out he limited himself to building custom homes and working on the east side of Cincinnati. In 1982, he added remodeling to his construction business. He focused his attention on remodeling, renovation, and restoration projects, in 1989.Like his father, most of his success was based on insisting on only the highest standards in the industry. In order for Steve to keep his reputation of quality work, he had to associate himself with the best subcontractors and employ his own master carpenters. Having this asset of employed carpenters, helps draw attention to small detail, unsurpassed service, and reasonable pricing.
