Forrest Gardens is an innovative design-build landscape architectural firm specializing in environmentally friendly gardens. We offer over 25 years of experience designing spaces cherished by the public including many playgrounds, parks, plazas, and community gardens in Seattle and the Puget Sound region. Strong communication and client partnerships allow us to provide unique, personal, and practical solutions. The common thread in all of our projects is a friendly, fun, creative, and collaborative approach.

Barker Landscape Architects has considerable experience in public outreach in the public design process. We recognize that community participation is an essential part of a successful and innovative project. We have facilitated numerous productive design workshops where people roll up their sleeves and get involved with project design. Because of their early involvement, they become “owners” and proponents of the project. With more public engagement early in the process, the better the resulting project is supported by citizens.

In the summer of 2009, the New School Foundation and South Shore School entered into a partnership with Seattle Tilth to develop and manage the new Rainier Beach Learning Garden on the campus and to provide garden education for South Shore School students.
