BARNEY'S---WHO ARE WE? Barney's was established in 1944 by Barney Sr. That was over 65 years ago and we are still going strong. The principals upon which Barney started this business are alive and well. We believe in professional installation of quality products. Changing times has not changed our character. We have allowed separate operating companies to offer you the best of two worlds. While the supply company purchases products factory direct acting as a distributor--we sell the products to these operating companies. We do marketing for them and license the use of our name. Saying all of this we want you to be assured that we have a legal agreement with these companies which guarantees you that all of our standards will be practiced. If at any time the standards are compromised we will withdraw the license and stop selling materials to them. Why did we make these business decisions? Most manufacturing companies want to sell only to distributors. They do not sell directly to companies that contract and installed products.
