Dr Robert O. Barnum was an inactive Naval Aviator stationed out of Cherry Point, began his chiropractic practice in 1953 in downtown Morehead City, Dr. Barnum graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1949. He was very active in the Morehead Jaycees and was the president of the Carteret County Midget League football program for many years. He and his wife raised nine children while enjoying hobbies such as fishing and playing golf. Dr. Barnum retired in 2003 after enjoying serving his patients for 50 years. Dr. Lewis Barnum joined his father's practice in 1985 after graduating from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Lewis Barnum focused his practice on more sports relates care and attended numerous post graduate courses in athletic and sports injuries. A combination of different chiropractic techniques have allowed this clinic to treat literally thousands of patients over the years. These techniques include: Pettibon Bio-mechanics, Diversified, Thompson, Fras (Force Recording and Analysis System), and nutritional recommendations. In 1993, Barnum Chiropractic moved to the present location to provide a more comprehensive wellness based clinic. The larger clinic allows patients to be seen on time and also allows the doctors to provide the best chiropractic services available.
