Dr. Barry Matza has been in private practice, specializing in Orthodontics in Boca Raton, Florida, since 1979 when he joined the staff of the Boca Raton Community Hospital. Dr. Matza was raised in New York City and later attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1973. He continued teaching at Tufts School of Dental Medicine until he began his post-graduate education in Orthodontics there. He received a certificate in Orthodontics in 1976 and became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1987. Dr. Matza is a consultant at the University of Miami, school of medicine, division of Plastic Surgery. He has been an expert witness for the Department of Professional Regulation for the state of Florida and is presently an assistant professor at Nova Southeastern School of Dental Medicine, department of post-graduate orthodontics. Dr. Matza is known for his treatment of children and adult patients, his area of expertise at Nova Southeastern School of Dental Medicine. His treatment of both smile esthetics and the complex interdisciplinary orthodontic cases have interested him since he began his private practice. Dr. Matza is also an expert in the treatment of Orthodontic Cranio-Facial Anomalies, which include cleft lip and palate and congenital birth defects.
