The Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau is a voluntary organization of businesses and professionals with mutual interests in promoting commerce and tourism throughout the region. The chamber's strength is in its membership, accomplishing together what no one business could do alone. It is a networking organization, bringing businesses together, referring customers, and creating good will as a welcoming committee to new businesses. The chamber is also a conduit between the community and the military population at Marine Base Barstow and Ft. Irwin. Serving specifically the communities of Barstow, Daggett, Fort Irwin, Hinkley, Lenwood, Newberry Springs, and Yermo, it also has regional interests that include the greater Mojave Desert. Tourism has become a major industry in the Barstow area, and the recent merging of the Conference and Tourism organization with the chamber will unify their efforts to globally promote the Mojave Desert with Barstow as its hub...
