Since its founding in 1975, Basic Machinery Company has grown from a small start up business to become a premier provider of materials handling and processing solutions to the brick manufacturing industry, as well as other dry bulk materials handling clients, in the United States and around the world. Its diverse services and product offering, along with a highly developed core competency in automated systems, combine to present turnkey opportunities to those organizations who desire to work with a single accountable entity as a powerful and effective supply chain management strategy. The company was founded over a quarter century ago in central North Carolina situated strategically to serve brick manufacturers in this clay rich region of the southeastern United States. In the early 1980's Basic evolved from its limited role as a commissioned sales agent, representing numerous key suppliers to the structural clay industry, to become an OEM manufacturer of a broad line of products, including complex automated systems, for brick plant applications. In 1986 the company established an Industrial Equipment Division (IED) to pursue opportunities in other industries which utilized many of the same bulk materials handling products which are incorporated in brick plants such as reclaimers, conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, feeders, hammer mills, and similar equipment.
