Folks from across the globe visit and buy our baskets for mementoes and gifts. In addition, Baskets Of Joy often designs and implements woven items for individuals and businesses. If you have the chance to visit the Miami, Florida area, be sure to visit the Raleigh Hotel and Spa - you are sure to notice the beautiful woven lampshades we helped create especially for them!Maurine Joy ("Mo" to just about everyone!) began weaving baskets in 1979 when her son, Brandon, was 2 years old. She enjoyed it so much that she decided to share her knowledge of this art form. While teaching basketweaving classes in Hawaii, she was able to save enough money to open her own shop. So, when the Navy transferred Maurine's husband to Brunswick, Maine in 1986, she opened Baskets Of Joy.
