Removing old shingles, cleaning up and hauling away all old materials and any trash created by our work activity. We remove old roofing felt as needed, or completely if the customer prefers, and replace it with new material. The need may exist because of damage to the existing felt, or because there is reason to believe sheathing may need repair. While on the job, we will replace all decayed sheathing and rafters (with your approval) before laying the new shingles. This saves you money by doing it while it's exposed and peace of mind in knowing your roof deck is sound. We re-flash your brick chimney, check all other flashing, reseal as needed using 100% silicone caulking, and replace old plumbing vent boots. At your request, we evaluate the adequacy of your roof venting and are capable of bringing it up to standard if a deficiency exists. Generally, the most economical time to improve venting is when workmen are on the roof. (When installing venting, we recommend and use CertainTeed ShingleVent II high performance ridge vent from Air Vent, Incorporated) Dear Mr. Bauer, We are satisfied with the job you did on our roof.
