Thea Capone, a partner in the firm, has been part of Baumeister & Samuels since its inception and has worked with Mitch Baumeister for almost 30 years. She has been involved in every major case handled by the firm, including most recently Comair Flight 5191, the World Trade Center September 11th Litigation, and the Pan Am Flight 103 Libya terrorist litigation.

Product liability claims can arise when an individual is killed or seriously injured as a result of defects in the initial design of a product. These defects may occur during the product's manufacture, or when a manufacturer fails to warn of dangers associated with the use of the product, or as a result of improper post-sale modifications to the product. Baumeister & Samuels has litigated many complex product liability cases involving manufacturers of aircraft component parts, automobiles, construction and other workplace related equipment.

Doug is currently handling a number of general aviation crashes involving claims against manufacturers, air traffic controllers, pilots and flight instructors. He has resolved many actions involving rotary wing aircraft, including claims against Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, The Boeing Company, as well as against Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH with respect to the crash of a BK-117 helicopter into the East River in New York City. He has successfully litigated dozens of general aviation accidents which have included claims against manufacturers, flight schools and fixed based operators.

Baumeister & Samuels has represented entire neighborhoods of people who have suffered a variety of illnesses and diseases as a result of groundwater, soil and air contamination resulting from improper disposal of hazardous waste which may have occurred years before any injury is manifested. The firm has experience working with both federal and local governmental officials to pinpoint the source of the pollution, establish a resolution and recover damages for the affected homeowners.
