Bay Area High Reach, Inc., was founded in 1970 as East Bay Scaffolding Co. Inc., by Edward H. Schmidt, affectionately known as "Howie". Howie specialized in tract homes, mainly for GG&B Plastering in the early 70s and 80s. In 1985 Howie sold the business to Brian P. Burns. Between 1985 and 1990 East Bay Scaffold grew from four employees and two trucks to twenty employees and nine trucks. In 1992 the name was changed from East Bay Scaffolding Company to Bay Area High Reach, Inc., to imply a greater geographic coverage area. Bay Area High Reach, Inc., has since continued to grow and serve as a leader in the scaffolding industry, priding itself on quality service and safety, as well as diversified product selections such as Aluminum Scaffold, Planks, Debris Chutes, Pedestrian Canopies and Access Stairwells. Bay Area High Reach, Inc., takes great pride in providing service on the most difficult jobs such as severe hillside sites and very difficult access jobs for industrial uses as well as churches and large interior platforms.
