Bay Area Stairs was founded by Steven Crews in 1998. The company started as a result of seeing the need for excellent craftsmanship in this construction niche. Steve has always been a stickler for creating beautiful and functional things with wood. In his 20+ years in construction, he has learned that stairs are one of the most complicated pieces of architecture to design and build. Many people may state that they can build a handrail and stair system, but the results, more often than not, are less than satisfactory. This is why Bay Area Stairs understands that our clients deserve and appreciate attention to detail. With this in mind, we emphasize these important factors while constructing all handrail and stairway systems: - Creating a great working relationship with the contractor, designer, homeowner, and sub-contractors. - Take precise measurements of your space - Creating precise plans and patterns that will give the client solid construction and the aesthetics they desire - We only use the best materials available - We craft all of the treads, custom rails and fittings in house - Using craftsmen who take pride in their work - Keeping the space clean while the project is in progress - Immaculately preparing all stair pieces for paint - The end result exceeds your expectations.
