BHI was founded in 1994 as a private not-for-profit BHO for the Colorado Medicaid Community Mental Health Services Program for Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas counties, all of which make up the Colorado Metro East service area. Throughout this time, BHI has arranged for and managed the provision of a wide range of services including inpatient, residential, outpatient, medication management, psychosocial rehabilitation, and case management services for Medicaid recipients. Client-directed services include drop-in centers, peer specialist programming, family-run activities, and job training programs.

Englewood, CO – Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. (BHI) announces that it has been awarded the prestigious honor of full Managed Behavioral Health Organization (MBHO) accreditation from the National Council for Quality Assurance (NCQA) on September 9, 2013. BHI is the only Behavioral Healthcare Organization (BHO) in Colorado to achieve NCQA accreditation. NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality, accrediting and certifying a wide range of health care organizations.
