Becky Reed has been an integral part of BMI for the last 10 years. She provides leadership for BMI in Account Management and Business Development; setting strategic direction, driving internal operating improvements and facilitating clear and consistent communication with BMI constituents. Her primary goal is to build long term relationships with our customers by ensuring that they receive exceptional service at all times while optimizing their outcomes.

Tonya Teal Slawinski, Ph.D. has over 30 years of clinical experience working with a wide range of mental health disorders in an inpatient setting and also in private practice. Prior to joining BMI, Dr. Slawinski owned and operated Supportive Solutions, Inc. (largest private woman owned incident response firm in the nation), where she recruited and trained over 850 mental health professionals to provide crisis response services and provided Crisis Management and Threat of Violence training for Fortune 100 and 500 companies nationwide.

Jim Mortensen is responsible for all facets of the BMI business including Sales, Marketing, Quality, Clinical Behavioral and Medical Services, Business Development, HR, and Client Services. Jim joined BMI in February of 2013. Prior to joining BMI, Jim was a Vice President at Benesyst where he was responsible for Client Relationships, Product Development, and Operations. Jim has an extensive background in the Health Care and Financial Services industries including time spent at Ameriprise and UnitedHealth Group. He has a passion for leading growing organizations to provide outstanding service.

Collaborative model involving a BMI Clinician working with a claims management team to provide objective clinical expertise on behavioral and physical health claims. This specialized service is conducted weekly by a dedicated Licensed Psychologist, Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor. Clinical consultation is provided either telephonically or onsite, resulting in better management of claims.

Behavioral Medical Interventions (BMI) provides claim review services that support the behavioral and medical needs of absence management, workers’ compensation and return to work programs. Our expert driven service model accommodates claims at any stage (early intervention through long term). It is our mission to assist in returning each claimant back to a functional life, including return to work when feasible. We utilize an objective, high-integrity approach to provide evidence-based sound clinical opinions on complex claims.
