Bemus Landscape was founded in 1973 by Bill Bemus. He did not have a passion for landscaping. He did not have a vision for creating beautiful exterior environments that harmonized with their natural settings. He needed to earn money while attending classes at Orange Coast College…so in a ’62 Dodge pickup he started peddling gardening services and began mowing lawns, raking leaves, shearing hedges, pruning trees and picking up dog doo. Shortly after founding the company (if that is how one describes the above) Bill married his high school sweetheart Martine. He was 20, she was 19.
