Founded in 1982 as a social enterprise, Greyston Bakery is as committed to providing jobs and job training for individuals who face barriers to employment as it is to crafting award-winning gourmet cakes and tarts. In 1988 we pioneered a Mission Statement that added a Social Mission alongside the Product & Economic Missions. Each year since 1989, which was the first year we reported on our Social performance, we’ve been delivering a report that tells you how we’re doing on that side of the ledger. We believe it’s an important aspect of our business to share with you, both the highs and lows.
