Ben Wayne Greig, junior passed away in 2005. The world lost an incredible artist capable of rendering the beauty and elegance of flowers through his photography. Ben traveled the world taking pictures of flowers. His eye for a good still-life is well developed and his approach carries a freshness that puts you in the picture. Ben was largely self-taught in the arts. His work demonstrated a life of careful observation, developing his own twist on vernacular visual conventions as seen in his pictures. He devoted most of his retirement years to the art of photography. His pictures have been exhibited at Galleries such as the Bascom-Louise Gallery in Highlands, North Carolina (828 526-4949) and the 17 South Briar Hollow Building Gallery, Houston, Texas. Ben sold enlargements as well as greeting cards. The greeting cards are still available via this website. The enlargements only by special request. Ben's wife of thirty-nine years, Mary Peareson Greig, along with Office Manager Mary Rounds and secretary Mary Lou Hicks form a team to assemble these colorful flower cards. Many friends provided locations with unique flower gardens. Please take a moment to browse our website. As sales are made and a profit is experienced, a portion will be shared with charities. Background Educated at The University of Texas before and after a tour of military duty that included study at Oklahoma State University and as a Combat Infantryman in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and 1945 during World War II, Ben had a successful business career and family life. In addition, Mary and Ben have six children: Carol, Chris, Brian, Betsy, Bruce and Ginna; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Joy in their lives is absorbed from their friends with fresh ideas.
