Description

Counterintuitive as it may sound, Benton Moore is an attorney because he loves music. From Isaac Hayes to Isaac Brock, Thelonious Monk to Thelonious Monster, Ben appreciates any passionate, original music. Ben champions artists’ rights and understands the music in “music law.” Prior to starting his own firm, Ben was general counsel to several internet and technology companies. In previous law firm practice, he counseled clients in technology, communications, and entertainment industries. Ben also gained trial experience as a San Diego Deputy District Attorney. Benton Moore received his Juris Doctorate from University of San Diego School of Law and is licensed to practice in California and the District of Columbia. He received his M.B.A. in New Venture Management, cum laude, from University of San Diego School of Graduate Business. Ben also holds a Certificate in International Law from Ireland’s Trinity College and a B.S. in Marketing from North Carolina State University and Virginia Commonwealth University. Ben stays abreast of current developments through membership in the San Diego County Bar Association, California Lawyers for the Arts, Association of Corporate Counsel and the American Bar Association. He is a Certified Estate Advisor by the National Association of Financial & Estate Planners. Ben serves on several Board of Directors in San Diego and Pacific Beach. He is co-founder of the San Diego Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving the music community and benefitting the elementary music programs in San Diego public schools. Though he prefers when his clients are in the limelight, Ben has been featured in San Diego Union Tribune, San Diego City Beat, San Diego Reader, and has appeared on Fox6 and KUSI. Benton has spoken on entertainment and business at the University of San Diego, UC San Diego, and California Western School of Law.
