Description
Once your pupils are dilated, it is normally difficult to read and bright sunlight will bother you. We provide temporary sunglasses to reduce discomfort from the glare. You can drive while your eyes are dilated; however, we recommend that you plan to have someone drive you home. Most eyes are back to normal by the next morning, but sometimes dilation can last 24 hours.
Unfortunately if you do not inform us of the specific requirements in your insurance contract, and we subsequently provide services that are not covered, we will have no choice but to bill you directly for those services. Payment of unauthorized services is then your responsibility. With your cooperation and help, you should be able to receive all the benefits due by your insurance carrier and we will be able to concentrate on caring for your needs. We must know the name of your primary care physician.
Providing quality care is our primary concern, and we are more than willing to provide the care within your insurance contract.
Referring doctors are very important to any practice. We greatly appreciate each and every patient sent to us for long term management, diagnostic testing, pre-operative retinal examinations, and the occasional second opinion. We realize that our level of patient care not only reflects on our practice but on your practice as well. With this in mind, we take extra care to treat all of our referred patients with courtesy and professionalism while offering the best in modern retinal medicine.
In addition to working with physicians and in direct patient care, the student is also exposed to good clinical practices of clinical trial operations. Protocol design and execution are another unique area we offer pre-medical students including: regulations, recruitment and data analysis. We also provide students the opportunity to assist the physician in writing peer-reviewed publications and preparing presentations. We are proud to offer this opportunity for the many future physicians of Austin.
