The family continued ownership until the early 1960’s. In 1961 the Berkley family of Tescott purchased the bank. Today, Berkley family members own and actively operate the State Bank of Downs. The Bank has seen steady growth since 1961 where assets grew from 2.5 million to over 56 million in 2008.
