Description

Besser Credit Union was first organized as Besser Employees Federal Credit Union, October 6, 1950. The first office was located in the personnel office of Besser Company. Our first annual meeting showed 214 members with assets of $9,300.00. In 1954 we moved to the Neumann building on Second Avenue. In 1971 we broke ground for The Credit Union Center at 1234 W. Chisholm St. In December, 1999 we moved to our present location at 1381 N. Bagley St.. In March, 2001 Stoneport CU merged with Besser CU giving us a full service branch location at 7421 US 23 N., Alpena, MI.
