Accountability with regard to local community needs and concerns is upheld through a high level of participation in the Lower East Side consortia and others working to improve health delivery in similar populations.

What information do you collect from me? To provide services and to help meet your needs, we collect information about you from our various applications and systems.

Laurie Lycksell Laurie Lyksell, FNP started her career as Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Betances Health Center in September 2009. Laurie was a Clinical Nurse in the Department of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center where she provided patient focused nursing care for a wide range of patients including various post operative, oncology, cardiac, orthopedic, geriatric, gastro intestinal, and medicine patients. After receiving her Master of Science in Nursing Laurie went on to complete the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Columbia University School of Nursing.

Before coming to Betances Health Center Dr. Li completed his residency at St. John Episcopal Hospital in Family Medicine. Dr Li attended Sun Yat-Sen University of Medicine Sciences in China. Dr. Li was the Physician- in- Charge at the Exira Family Medical Clinic of the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Iowa. He provided primary care services with a wide variety of medical disorders to patients in rural community. As a Chinese American he is dedicated to providing culturally competent healthcare in the Lower East Side community.

Bina Berkovich Bina Berkovich, PA has been a Physician Assistant at Betances Health Center since October 1998. Before coming to Betances, Bina completed the Physician Assistant program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. She attended the State Medical School of Andizhan Uzbec Republic where she obtained her Medical degree. Bina has provided primary care services to a wide range of patients with acute and chronic medical conditions as well as conducted house calls for the homebound elderly and disabled in the Physicians In-Home Visit and Treatment (PIVAT) program.
