Coordinate a multi-site process, outcome, impact and cost evaluation of the ten model demonstration programs. Working collaboratively with the sites, the Center will conduct a multi-site evaluation of the integrated programs utilizing client, provider and program data to determine the processes necessary to develop integrated HIV and buprenorphine programs as well as their feasibility, effectiveness, impact and cost. Enhance the development of the model demonstration programs by offering ongoing technical assistance, training and support on clinical, programmatic and evaluation issues. The Center has assembled a staff of experts and a National Advisory Committee to strengthen the capacity of the sites to integrate buprenorphine treatment and HIV primary care. The Center will offer ongoing technical assistance and support in program design, clinical training and consultation, and the development of policy and procedures that address regulatory, ethical and clinical concerns. Disseminate the findings to providers, administrators, and policy makers. Findings from the evaluation will be broadly disseminated to a range of audiences, including physicians, administrators, addiction treatment providers, AIDS service organizations, policy makers, and funders with the goal of promoting the sustainability and replication of model programs. The evidence, lessons, and concrete tools generated by this initiative will be translated into publications, training materials, briefing papers, reports and fact sheets that meet the particular needs of these diverse audiences.
