Based on information obtained from State and Federal biologists working in the field, we have identified popular and quality hunting areas on National Forests and many Bureau of Land Management (BLM) managed areas( about 200MM acres combined) in the west. Most maps are for deer and elk, however check the " Indexed Maps" menu for all big game species. National Forest or BLM maps are used to identify hunting areas. National Forest maps come in various sizes depending upon the amount of National Forest lands. BLM maps are a standard size of 22"x 33'' and cover just under 1.2 million acres. Each map identifies several areas recommended for hunting. Hunting unit boundaries are shown on each map and some maps show migration routes from the summer range towards the winter range. Most maps cover portions of several hunting units. Many units are shown on more than one map so carefully study the details under each State listing to be sure you get the units you want. Harvest data which covers a three year period accompanies each map. Our maps can help if you are planning a hunt in an unfamiliar area or you need more information about an area. Pre-planning your big game hunt is one of the most important steps in your hunt and having specific information about where to hunt can be your best weapon.
