Description

www.packercountry.com WELCOME TO GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN!! Green Bay, the city by the bay, was founded in 1634 by the French explorer, Jean Nicolet. Today Green Bay is a thriving Great Lakes seaport linked to international shipping lanes, rail lines and interstate highways. Our city is one with a rich heritage and the promise of an even brighter future. Green Bay's 2005 estimated population was 104,770, however, Brown County's overall population - including Howard, DePere, Allouez and Ashwaubenon is 240,404. The climate here is continental, with four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and humid and the autumns are cool; while winter is snowy and relatively cold. The city and it's people are proud of their professional football team, the Green Bay Packers. Their home stadium, Lambeau Field, has a seating capacity of 72,515 (that number is always increasing as new sky-boxes and more seats are added yearly) and is sold out for all home games on a season-ticket basis.
