Education Biomechanical Services recommends each of the courses listed here for those health care professionals wanting to continue their development of techniques used to better manage foot function. Course attendees will gain greater knowledge of foot biomechanics, related functional mechanisms above the foot and understanding of the benefits from orthotic therapy integration with other modalities and techniques. Course participants should have taken the Basic Course, and should have a basic understanding of anatomy, terminology, biomechanics, and the biomechanical assessment of the lower extremity prior to taking this seminar. This Course will discuss advanced joint biomechanics, sport biomechanics, footwear technology and selection, video gait analysis, joint mobilization, foot orthotic problem solving, closed kinetic chain assessment, and closed kinetic chain rehabilitation. The course will focus upon the use of biomechanics in treatment approaches and clinical problem solving.
